The two-day workshop engaged participants in hands-on practice of sand casting, an ancient technique used to create sculptural and functional forms through the manipulation of sand molds and molten materials (I use cement in this workshop). Designed for artists, students, and enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds, the workshop offered both theoretical insights and practical exposure, fostering an appreciation for the historical significance of the medium while encouraging contemporary interpretations. By merging traditional craftsmanship with modern creative inquiry, the workshop highlighted the enduring relevance of material-based practices in today's art and design education.
